Who the heck are you?
My name is Mike Schlosky. I am 43 years old and was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2010. You can, however, find out more about me by reading this blog.
What is this site about?
Gimcrack is a blog about my personal observations living, working, and raising a family while having multiple sclerosis. I write posts and draw comics that I hope are insightful, thought-provoking, and sometimes just plain silly. I don’t claim to know shit about shit, I’m not a physician or psychologist, I’m just a guy who writes a blog and draws comics about his own chronic disease. Please, whatever you do, don’t take anything you see on this site too seriously.
Who is this site for?
This site is for anyone who has MS or knows someone who has MS. Since an estimated 400,000 people in the United States have it and 2.5 million people worldwide, I think it’s for a lot of people.
What does “gimcrack” mean, anyway?
Honestly, I just think it’s a cool name and an unusual word. Wish there was a whole paragraph of meaning behind this, but nope.
flimsy or poorly made but deceptively attractive.
a cheap and showy ornament; a knickknack.
How can I contact you?
All the information on how to contact me is on my contact page.
